Ambrose Campbell

Interesting article in the Observer today about the origins of black music in the U.K.The added interest for me is that One of the original band memebers of the Ambrose Campbell band was Ade Bashorun who's son the phenomenally talented Pianist Joe Bashorun was in my band and played on the 2 albums I recorded for Blue Note records.So I was fortunate to hear some good anecdotes about the British Jazz scene before he died.Anyway check out the article .
Also look out for the compilation albums "LONDON IS THE PLACE FOR ME" as the next one number 3 features some music from the West African scene in the Uk from the 40s.
